(Bachelor of Science)
Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and Technology (HIMT)
The Health Information Management and Technology program prepares students to excel in one of the fastest-growing areas of healthcare—the management and use of health information. HIMT professionals work at the intersection of healthcare, information systems, data management, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that patient information is accurate, secure, and accessible.
UW-Green Bay’s HIMT program equips graduates with the knowledge and skills to lead in this dynamic field. Students learn to manage health information technologies across departments and organizations, supporting clinical care, operational efficiency, and compliance. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in both public and private healthcare settings, where they play a critical role in advancing quality care through effective information management.
Prospective students with a Health Information Technology (HIT) associates degree from an CAHIIM accredited program may be eligible for transfer credits to meet major requirements. Admission to the major requires junior status (54 credits). Students who do not meet junior status may take HIMT courses with instructor permission. Talk to your HIMT advisor for more information.
