SCM 450. Supply Chain Optimization. 3 Credits.
This course introduces mathematical modeling and optimization techniques used to analyze and improve decision-making in supply chains. Students learn to formulate, model, and solve supply chain problems using linear, nonlinear, heuristic, multi-attribute and multi-objective optimization methods. Topics include mathematical modeling, geographic representation of solution space, simplex method, dual and sensitivity analysis, nonlinear models and linearization techniques, heuristics and metaheuristics, multi-attribute decision-making, and multi-objective decision analysis. Emphasis is placed on practical applications, interpretation of results, and managerial insight.
P: Basic knowledge on algebra/calculus; no programming experience required (tools demonstrated in class).
