HUM STUD 583. Contemporary Cultural Issues. 3 Credits.

This course critically examines pressing cultural issues shaping contemporary society. Through an interdisciplinary approach, students will explore topics such as globalization, identity politics, media representation, social justice, and/or the evolving role of technology in shaping cultural narratives. Drawing from philosophy, history, literature, and media studies, students will analyze and debate complex cultural phenomena, evaluating their impact on institutions, communities, and individuals and develop advanced analytical skills and a nuanced understanding of cultural dynamics. Topics may vary from semester to semester. Course is repeatable for credit; may be taken 2 times for a total of 6 earned credits if topics differ.
